Eligibility for Other Categories

Category Eligibility Criteria
OMS / All India Candidates Indian nationals who have passed any Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate Degree (minimum 3 years duration) from a UGC-recognized university with minimum 55% marks in any discipline.
Appearing Candidates (2024–25) Final year UG/PG students may apply. Admission will be provisional until submission of all final mark sheets and degree certificates. Candidates must ensure timely declaration of results.
Open University Candidates Bachelor’s Degree obtained from a Central or State Legislature-recognized Open University is accepted.
Deemed University Candidates Degree awarded by institutions deemed to be universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 is considered valid.

3.1.3 – Educational Qualification for Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), All India & J&K Migrant Candidates

  • Must be an Indian National.
  • Passed any Bachelor’s or PG degree (min. 3 years) awarded by a recognized university (Central, State, or Deemed under UGC Act 1956).
  • Minimum 55% marks in any discipline.
  • OMS candidates who are not born or domiciled in Maharashtra, even if graduated from Maharashtra University, are still considered OMS.

3.1.4 – Provision for Appearing Candidates (2024–25)

  • Final year candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Must provide all required final mark sheets and degree/provisional certificates at admission.
  • It is the candidate’s responsibility to obtain the results before admission rounds.

3.1.5 – English Language Content Test (ELCT)

Condition Requirement
Admission to English Medium Colleges Candidates must select the ELCT option while filling the MAH-B.Ed. CET application form.
Note: The ELCT option cannot be added or modified after final submission of the application.

Important Notes on Marks & Grading

  • Aggregate Marks: Grand total of all marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
  • Grading System: If CGPA is awarded, the university’s certified conversion formula must be provided.
  • Rounding Off: Marks are rounded off to two decimal places (only if the percentage exceeds the required minimum).

3.1.6 – NRI / OCI / PIO / FNS / CIWGC Candidates

Category Eligibility
NRI / OCI / PIO / FNS / CIWGC Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree from a recognized foreign university with a minimum of 55% marks, along with:
  • Equivalence Certificate from AIU, New Delhi
  • Eligibility Certificate from the admitting university
CET Requirement Candidates under this category are exempted from MAH-B.Ed. CET 2025, however, they must apply and participate in CAP rounds as per rules.
